At Stena Drilling, we recognise that people are our most valuable asset. We are also proud to offer graduates and trainees the opportunity to join our successful team and contribute to our ever growing success. What we can offer in return is training, support, mentoring and a career in one of the most challenging yet rewarding industries.

Our Fast Track Drilling Trainee program is second to none within the drilling industry. If you have recently graduated or are soon to be graduating in an engineering/drilling degree at university, then why not consider a fast track program which will see you progress through the ranks to the position of an experienced Assistant Driller with Stena Drilling in 3 years. Our program is a three stage training plan in which successful candidates will undertake several roles offshore and receive on the job training and mentoring from Stena Drilling's experienced personnel. Reporting to the Program Manager onshore, you will receive excellent exposure both onshore and offshore and be fast tracked through the different roles in our Drilling Department. You will also work within our other departments offshore including the Subsea and Safety departments and will therefore receive a complete overview of daily offshore operations on one of our Drilling units.

If this sounds like something you want to be a part of and feel you can contribute to our success, then we would like to hear from you. Please apply online by submitting your full CV stating your degree and the date/year you graduated.

Become a part of something great at Stena Drilling and take your career to the MAX.

Why did you join Stena Drilling?

With an interest in entering a career within the drilling industry I came across Stena Drilling’s Fast Track Drilling Trainee (FTDT) programme which offered training & progression opportunities along with a good salary and benefits package. I’m under no doubt that joining Stena Drilling was the right move for me.

How has Stena Drilling supported you in your career development?

Stena Drilling has provided me with the backing I’ve needed to progress within my chosen career.

The FTDT programme’s extensive training matrix consists of both offshore competencies and external course elements. Their commitment to this training ethos is apparent even in the current global financial climate and where many employers are forced to cut costs, Stena Drilling’s Training Budgets have remained considerable.

Stena Drilling’s offshore personnel and the equipment throughout their fleet are of an extremely high calibre and have been significant factors in my development. Stena Drilling’s FTDT programme exposed me to some very experienced and knowledgeable personnel who were more than happy to help improve my understanding & support my career development.

Why would you recommend Stena Drilling as an Employer?

The FTDT programme provides a fast paced and exciting working environment. It allowed me to experience a wide range of offshore operations, from the perspective of many of the departments required to maintain a successful offshore drilling operation.

Stena Drilling has delivered on all their promises including the training offered, opportunities for progression and financial package. Further to my graduation from the FTDT I have been provided every opportunity to progress within the structure of the firm.

However it is the security that I value most and my main reason for recommending Stena Drilling as an employer; a small fleet of modern drilling units coupled with a steady growth as a company. During a time of turbulent job security I feel fortunate to hold employment with Stena Drilling.
