To be a sustainable company we must look at the financial, social, and environmental aspects of the organisation and decide where to prioritise resources. Stena Drilling has undertaken stakeholder analysis, impact analysis, risk assessments and materiality matrices with the aim of developing strategic sustainability objectives for the organisation.
Our specific sustainability objectives are based on reducing climate impact through reduced fuel consumption by introducing energy efficiency programmes and enhanced equipment monitoring systems. Our health, safety and wellbeing targets are focused on mental health awareness and support. In addition, we are exploring new opportunities for delivering training and competence requirements to our diverse and remote workforce. Our final objective focuses on the Asset Integrity of our vessels and seeking innovative ways to perform preventative maintenance, whilst maintaining a focus on safety, operation, and performance costs.
ISO Certification
Stena Drilling is pleased to confirm that we have been assessed and found to be in conformance with the requirements set forth by ISO50001:2018.
Stena Drilling is extremely proud to be one of the first Drilling Contractors to have been certified for all vessels and head office.
Stena Drilling was one of the first offshore drilling contractors to achieve the ISO 14001 certification across our entire fleet of vessels.
This demonstrates our commitment to environmental management and provides further evidence of our determination to meet our sustainability targets.
SUSTAINABLE TECHNOLOGIES
Through smart forward-thinking, Stena Drilling is working on closed bus systems, energy management systems and upgrades across our entire fleet to minimise the impact we have on the environment. As a diligent and competent drilling contractor, we recognise the importance of our industry in contributing toward the ‘net-zero’ global goal for the world’s energy supply.
Within our Digital Transformation unit, our Tribes (Care, Innovation & Performance) are working on key projects with a focus on sustainability. As part of our progress towards achieving ISO 50001 status, all of our vessels now include ‘Smart Meters’ that monitor and record all energy and emissions data. Having this level of detail with regards to our performance processes allows us to make smarter decisions in how we operate our vessels reducing our fuel consumption.
